The Government of Egypt (GoE) and the UN have signed a UN Partnership Development Framework (UNPDF) for the period 2018-2022, with an estimated budget of USD 1.2 billion in March 2018.
Strategically, the UNPDF seeks to support the realization of the 2030 Agenda and the localization and acceleration of SDG achievement through support to the national 2030 Agenda strategy, i.e. the Sustainable Development Strategy: Egypt Vision 2030 (Vision 2030). The UNPDF responds to the three dimensions of Vision 2030, people, planet and prosperity.
It also offers support to long standing Egyptian efforts to fully utilise the transformative energy contained in the female population, through highlighting support to the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030.
Against this backdrop, We kindly request you to submit your Proposal for a Consulting firm to conduct a Design Thinking
Workshop for next-generation joint UN programmes.
The proposed three-day workshop will use design thinking approaches to identify local, collaborative, and participatory joint UN initiatives that are founded on the Egyptian local context, in line with Vision 2030 and the UNPDF, rather than being retrofitted to it. Grounded on key thinking paradigms of being holistic, uninhibited, collaborative, iterative, and visual, the design thinking workshop should foster integrative
and cross-disciplinary thinking. This workshop should enable participants to understand the importance 12 of innovation in implementing the 2030 Agenda. By guiding participants through the different stages of the design thinking process, this workshop should empower them to apply integrative and crossdisciplinary thinking in order to come up with human-centred joint UN solutions in support of the 2030
Agenda, the SDS and Vision 2030.
The proposals should contain detailed description of the services to be provided and the key experts/personnel to be assigned. The cost breakdown for each activity should be included in the proposals.
